Editor:
I get very tired of being told that Surrey voted in favour of keeping the RCMP when in fact we voted for a local police force in 2018.
It seems a lot of people didn’t vote or were not paying attention at the time.
The process is well on its way and trying to go backwards makes no sense at all and is an utter waste of time and our money.
I’m glad our provincial government had the wisdom to step in and bite the bullet.
Now our current mayor wants to waste more of our money and treat us as if we don’t know what we want or need.
We need a locally accountable police force.
Would the current mayor just get on with it?
