Re: White Rock approves $1 million Marine Drive hump stabilization project

1. Why is it called “the hump?” When I moved to White Rock in the 1950s it was the “board walk” because that’s what it was. Eventually the boards were replaced with asphalt.

Should the name have been changed to “asphalt walk?” Isn’t “board walk” better? Will the future work include a new “board” walk? That would be nice.

2. Why were the stabilizing trees and shrubs allowed to be harvested in the first place?

3. Why is it suddenly a bright idea to look for funding?

The city has known for months or probably years that this work needed to be done. Funding should have been looked for long ago.
