I understand White Rock council is reviewing new parking prices on the beach, but has not yet made any decisions. I, like many others, have been parking at the beach for many years. The city has always had pay parking in effect from 10 a.m. to midnight.

However, while the bylaw officers assure me there is no change to that timeline, I draw your attention to a new sign, on the west end, and an old sign, east of those presently in place. I am under the impression that the sign which does not indicate the pay period will replace the old sign which did.

Is the intent of the city to not tell visitors when parking charges are in effect?

I hope I have this wrong. I hope the city corrects the new sign and will advertise as they have done in the past when we are obligated to pay.
