What have they done to our water supply?

Having recently returned from a month in Europe, I was shocked when I opened my tap to fill a kettle for tea. The smell was awful and the taste disgusting.

I called White Rock engineering department to enquire what had changed with the water supply and was told they are now chlorinating. I have no problem with that, except I have just been drinking water from the tap in the U.K., Amsterdam, Zurich and many other places in Germany, and never noticed the bleach taste or smell.

I hope we have qualified people handling this chlorination process, and that they rectify this upsetting situation.
