Re: “Two-thirds of B.C. residents support lower speed limits,” June 16

In an ideal world, this would be a perfect solution to traffic accidents, but if the existing speed limits are not enforced, do you honestly think that reducing speed limits would be the answer?

I live two blocks from 16 Avenue and regularly walk that area. I am totally shocked that our police force is allowing 16th to become a racetrack. I agree that distracted driving, namely the use of phones while driving, is a major problem, but speeding and total disregard for rules of the road – ie: lane changes, no signalling and running traffic lights – need to be enforced.

Where are our police ? Please clamp down on these crazy drivers. I know what I am talking about. My wife and I have just recovered from an accident caused by a inattentive, unlicensed young driver who came though a stop sign at full speed and put us both in hospital.
