LETTERS: Speed bumps might be the answer to Marine Drive ‘racing’

Yesterday as I was attempting to pull out of my driveway along Marine Drive, I witnessed a black BMW pass another vehicle right in front of my home, doing about 100 km/h in a residential 50 km/h zone.

This has got to stop before someone gets killed. There is a lot of traffic along this road, with locals, contractors, landscape companies, joy-riders, motorbikes and, far too often, expensive sports cars racing along this stretch of road between Nichol and Bergstrom.

I have approached the local traffic safety people about this problem but yet to see any enforcement. Are we waiting for a catastrophe to occur before anything gets done?

In addition to this, we have many cyclists of all ages using this stretch of road as well.

Someone suggested speed bumps. Maybe not a bad idea.
