It is increasingly apparent that Mayor Brenda Locke has absolutely no idea how to govern in the City of Surrey. Her selfish position regarding policing in Surrey, spewing inaccurate information about costs and the effect on property taxes is pathetic.
She fails to disclose the cost of disbanding the Surrey Police Force, and the cost of the 100-plus officers requested by the RCMP.
As well, she is neglecting to speak about the benefits of a “municipal” force versus the federal RCMP, who continue to demand more resources year after year, while crime continues to escalate in Surrey.
Locke insinuates that she speaks for all taxpayers in Surrey, which is untrue. It is time that Locke steps aside or a recall is commenced, so that all taxpayers can be represented.
