LETTERS: Time to settle policing issue

Editor:

It is time for Premier Horgan to order a referendum on the establishment of a Surrey Municipal Police Force.

Safe Surrey is not advocating for a Safe Surrey. It is advocating for municipal control of policing without giving a thought to the extra costs that would be incurred.

The new PTAC will most likely be formed by the most vocal of McCallum’s supporters who appear to be from the South Asian Community. They do not represent me. Is the mayor trying to be “Trump North” to our community by pandering to only one group of citizens? A referendum is the only way to clear the air. Mr. Horgan and Mr. Farnworth, let’s get this settled once and for all.
