Now that our incumbent MP, Russ Hiebert, has been re-elected with a comfortable majority, he should introduce a bill in Parliament that would promote Canadian unity by adopting one national anthem that would begin with the first two French phrases of the original French version.
I suggested this minor text change to him in a letter a few weeks ago.
If Quebeckers know the majority of English-Canadians sing this bilingual anthem with two French phrases in it, they will embrace it, too.
We will then have one country, one flag, one anthem!
