Last week, I lost my diamond engagement ring in the parking lot at Grandview Corners.

I went through garbage at the Royal Bank, scoured every inch of Walmart and the parking lot, and even went through my son’s diapers!

I then received a call from Walmart saying that someone found it and was taking it to the police station.

I would like to thank the Good Samaritans who returned the ring, which they easily could have pawned.

On Good Friday, I was taking my sister-in-law from chilly Calgary to show her the sights and sounds of our wonderful Crescent Beach.

I neglected to fully take in the parking situation due to the holiday church services. To my dismay, it was packed, but I maintained hope.

As I rounded the end of the circle near the beach and headed back to search, I let a van in ahead of me. It pulled out and immediately stopped.

I thought perhaps something was wrong, but the driver asked if I was looking for a parking spot. He invited me to use an extra space at his home just down the lane.

Talk about a “parking angel.” He made sure I got parked, informed his wife and, after wishing us the best for Easter, went off to attend services. Thank you, Richard!
