I see that NASCAR season is upon us again, here on Marine Drive in East Beach.

The break-neck speed that passenger vehicles, buses and construction/city vehicles travel along Marine Drive on a daily basis is frightening.

Is it really too much to ask for everyone to follow the posted 30 km/h speed limit?

What’s the hurry? Not only is it dangerous, it is very noisy for the residents and visitors when you go flying by. It is difficult for people pulling out of the side streets onto Marine Drive, not to mention dangerous for the pedestrians and cyclists etc.

Last year, a woman was killed by a still-at-large hit-and-run driver. Was that really worth It? So you saved a few seconds. Big deal.

Slow down!

And police, are you out there?

Please enforce our laws. I know you are busy with serious crimes, but still, you must have a few hours a day – especially in the early morning rush hours – to make a few bucks and maybe save a few lives.
