Editor,

Local MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay’s recent comments in Penticton on the federal carbon tax policy illustrated some disturbing traits.

First, both she and her leader continue to “forget” to mention the rebate portion of the policy. Dishonest?

Second, when pressed on detailing any alternatives to the carbon tax, the best she came up with is turning garbage into natural gas. Lame?

Also, this past week saw all provincial Conservative parties join the federal Conservative party to demand that the carbon tax be eliminated, without presenting any meaningful alternatives. Credible?

It seems apparent that the Conservative party, both at the federal and provincial levels, prefer to act like climate change deniers and yell simplistic slogans rather than outline any serious actions to reduce carbon emissions.
