After a midweek split on the road in Duncan, Surrey Eagles have an opportunity to win their opening-round playoff series on home ice Friday night (April 12).

South Surrey Arena will be buzzing for Game 5 of the BC Hockey League battle between the league-leading Eagles and Cowichan Valley Capitals, 7:15 p.m. puck drop.

Surrey has a 3-1 series lead after a 4-2 win Wednesday (April 10) at Cowichan Community Centre, where Eagles goals were scored by Ryan Evenhuis, Zachary Wagnon, Micah Berger and Massimo Fazio. In net, Jaiden Sharma stopped 31 of 33 shots.

In Game 3 Tuesday, Cowichan won 5-3.

Last weekend, the Cam Keith-coached Eagles skated to a pair of home-ice wins to kick off the playoff series.

If necessary, Game 6 would be played Saturday night (April 13) in Cowichan, followed by a possible Game 7 back at South Surrey Arena on Monday (April 15), 7:15 p.m. start.
