A pair of Burnaby Mountain Selects lacrosse teams – both of which are rife with Surrey players – finished in silver-medal position at a tournament/camp last week at the University of Denver.
Both the Selects' U13 and U15 squads finished second, with both team's losing the final contest to top-seeded Denver Elite.
Included on the U13 roster were Surrey residents Niklas Friesen and Cloverdale's Patrick Shoemay, while the U15 team had South Surrey's John Carey, Nathan Davis, Alex Friesen, Parker Willis and Pearson Willis among its ranks.
Carey and Parker Willis were also selected to play in the U15 all-star game, while Niklas Friesen was chosen as the U13 MVP.
