Surrey trio advances to softball playoff in Sherbrooke

Cassandra Dypchey, Olivia Hornstein and Lindsey Ogilvie of Surrey have helped Team BC advance to the playoff round of the women’s softball tournament at the Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, Quebec..

Team BC has a 6-2 (won-lost) record with one game remaining in the round robin.

Dypchey, playing third base and a product of the White Rock Renegades rep program, has gone 11-for-19 at the plate with seven runs score3d and 10 batted in.

Hornstein and Ogilvie, both from the Surrey Storm program, have alternated between designated hitter and first base.

Hornstein went 12-24 with three doubles and a triple, scoring 11 times and driving in six runs. Ogilvie is eight-for-20 with three doubles, six runs scored and five RBIs.

Team BC will play Ontario tonight (Thursday). The winner is guaranteed a medal, the loser is eliminated.
