It’s high time for a curling competition.
Fortunately, the High Tides Open Bonspiel is coming back to the Peace Arch Curling Club in White Rock.
It’s set for the weekend of Nov. 24 to 26.
“We are thrilled with the response – not just from the curlers in our club, but from other curling clubs in the area,” event organizer John Bogar said in an email.
All in, the club expects to host 20 teams for the bonspiel, including some teams from the U.S., he noted.
Anyone who wishes to come and enjoy some good curling competition is encouraged to do so.
“Spectators are welcome all three days,” Peace Arch Curling Club manager Ross Scott added, in the same email.

“The finals will be held on Sunday (Nov. 26) afternoon and we expect to see some exceptional curling.”
Plus, Scott pointed out, “This year, the bonspiel is an international event because we have two teams coming up from Seattle.”
The Peace Arch Curling Club has provided curling on the Peninsula for more than 50 years, Scott noted.
“The social and fun aspects of curling attract players of all ages,” he said.
“With our White Rock demographics, we have many seniors, particularly in our day leagues.”
The Peace Arch Curling Club is located in the Horst & Emmy Werner Centre for Active Living, at 1475 Anderson Ave., in the building adjacent to Centennial Arena.
