The City of White Rock will celebrate the completion of its Bayview Park revitalization today, with a community event that gets underway at 5 p.m.
The idea to revitalize the park came from a forum held two years ago to glean ideas for enhancing the waterfront.
Improvements include increasing the West Beach park's accessibility.
The work was undertaken with the support of a $40,300 investment by the federal government. The city contributed matching funds.
Today's celebration will include Surrey-White Rock MLA Gordon Hogg, White Rock Mayor Wayne Baldwin and members of council.
A ceremony will be followed by Move for Health Day activities, including fun for children and free Zumba classes.
