Cops investigate shooting in Newton

Surrey Mounties are investigating a report of shots fired at a residence in the 12700-block of 68 Avenue in Newton at 4:13 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26.

“No one was injured during this incident, but the residence involved sustained damage consistent with shots fired,” Sgt. Tammy Lobb said. “Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety. Officers are still working to determine the motive of this incident.”

Police ask anyone with information, including dash camera footage of the incident, to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, and quote file number 2023-195064.
